Getting lost in Laos

Our guesthouse actually had our backs as I had informed the manager where we were going. She told the owner who realised the trek was too long to manage in one day and so they expected us to have to spend the night en route. Apparently if we were gone for two nights, they were going to call the police and have a search party sent out.

Discussing it hours later over the luxury of hot food and cold beer, we realised we had had the kind of travelling experience most backpackers dream of. True adventure is a rarity, largely because there are so many people desperately seeking it. That which Anna and I shared will remain with me forever.
