David Abram, celebrated traveller, writer, philosopher and cultural ecologist recently visited a little-known corner of China, Yunnan. In particular he travelled the Songtsam Circuit – a circuitous route from lodge to lodge taking in the sacred Tibetan massif known as ‘Kawakarpo’, the upper Mekong Valley and village of Tacheng, as well as the region’s capital, Shangri La.

David, whose travels have spanned the globe, hadn’t heard of this remarkable little piece of the world before TransIndus told him about it  but captured a taste in this haunting and inspiring film that captures the very essence of this brief visit. Click below to take a look.
