Each year many people from all over the world flock to visit the most stunning and vibrant cities in Europe, and this year is no different. The different places and cities in Europe prove to be the most popular travel destinations for those going away this summer, the main reason being as there is such a wide choice of culture, sights and things to see and do for people of all ages. If you are planning to travel to Europe this year as well as packing all the essentials, don’t forget to apply or renew your European Health Insurance Card.

VeniceVenice

Venice is a very popular city in Italy which never fails to enchant those who visit. Although summer does bring many people to this city so there will be flocks of crowds but there is a reason why so many visit Venice. The city is exquisite especially as there is so much water surrounding it and to travel around the city you have to use boats. If you are looking to soak up some culture as well as sun this summer then head to Venice as it has an abundance of churches, museums, and art galleries all filled with antiques and history.

Paris

Another highly popular city which is completely romantic and beautiful is Paris. There is a reason so many people travel to Paris each year as it is also filled with culture, history and some of the top local cuisine. If you visit Paris you have to see the 360 amazing view from the Eiffel Tower as well as visit the most popular museums like the Louvre and the Musée d’Orsa. With plenty of playgrounds, gardens, food markets and quirky cafes there is no empty space in Paris that isn’t filled with culture waiting to be absorbed.

Malta

Although Malta may be small it has plenty to offer, Malta and its residences also get more than 300 sunny days a year making it one of the hottest summer destinations this year. This small yet endearing country is surrounded by clear blue waters where visitors can swim, snorkel and scuba dive in some of the cleanest and clearest waters within the Mediterranean. As well as many activities travellers can enjoy, if your one who likes history and culture then you will be impressed by Malta’s not just vast but also ancient history it is home to. Some of its temples are prehistoric and Malta also has roman catacombs that can be visited, which are definitely only for the brave.

Corfu

Corfu is one of the greenest of the Greek Islands due to its torrential rains from September to May but has some of the nicest and hottest summers, making it an ideal place to holiday. This rural island is actually hidden away from the main touristy parts so if you are looking for a relaxing holiday in the sun, Corfu is an ideal destination. As well as the blue seas, and sandy beaches Corfu has plenty of things to do from hiking the Corfu Trail which the course covers 220 KM to visiting Kérkyra Old Town and touring round a handful of museums it has to offer.
